Boca Raton Outpatient Surgery & Laser Center (BROSLC), established in 1992, is a top quality surgery center which offers a practical alternative for many people who have decided on elective surgery. Our highly qualified staff and surgeons work in this fully equipped multi-specialty facility which is licensed by the State of Florida, Medicare certified, and accredited by the AAAHC.
New England Compounding Center Update Boca Raton Outpatient Surgery and Laser Center’s first priority is our clinical quality and patient safety. We have been following the fungal meningitis situation involving steroid injections produced by New England Compounding Center (NECC) and fully complying with the FDA’s guidance. Boca Raton Outpatient Surgery and Laser Center did not receive or administer any steroid from NECC.
We did purchase some eye drops and eye blocks from NECC. Currently there are no reported issues associated with these medications. However, as a precautionary measure, if you had an eye procedure at Boca Raton Outpatient Surgery and Laser Center between May 21st, 2012 and October 8th, 2012 we are notifying you that you may have received a medication from NECC. Should you experience any of the following symptoms contact your eye surgeon immediately for further evaluation. Signs and symptoms include but are not limited to; fever, headache, visual changes, sensitivity to light, floaters in the operative eye, increased pain, redness or swelling of the eyelids, drainage or discharge from the operative eye.
We are continuing to follow the guidance of The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and will update this information as we are notified of any changes.
